Annie Thorisdottir https://www.instagram.com/anniethorisdottir/ is the legendary “Daughter of Thor”. This is how her fans called her after the first competition, because “dottir” is translated as “daughter”, and we have no reason to doubt that she has an irrepressible inner strength.
Annie is an incredibly smiling blonde Icelandic CrossFit athlete who is 170 cm tall and weighs 67 kg. With her arrival, a whole era of “Dottir” began, which continues to this day, as more than 5 athletes from Iceland with a similar surname occupy the CrossFitter Olympus. Annie is a two-time CrossFit Games Women’s Champion in 2011 and 2012, in which she has already competed 10 times, each time entering the top 15. She is considered one of the strongest female athletes in the world, and the only one to take the title of the strongest woman in competition twice. She herself recently stormed the world of sports herself, and now she sincerely likes to inspire people to new achievements. “The main thing is to find your passion and go on a journey with it.” – Annie Vesna.
Annie was born in a village in Iceland with a population of 500 people, which did not prevent her from becoming famous throughout the world. Since childhood, Annie has been engaged in gymnastics, having given this sport 10 years. She even managed to break into the Icelandic national team, but at the age of 15 she quit this sport and went to ballet. Naturally, she lacked the load, and Annie decided to do pole vaulting, for which it was necessary to train hard. She became the champion of the country in two years, but still, she needs daily challenges and achievements. A friend enrolled her in a local CrossFit competition, the winner who made it possible to qualify for the CrossFit Games competition.
